After flying high against the Patton Springs Rangers two weeks ago, the Motley County Matadors came back down to earth. Motley County fell 51-39 to Valley on Saturday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Motley County in their matchups with Valley: they've now lost seven in a row.
Valley can attribute much of their success to Tucker Schlueter, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for him. Evan Meyer was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Motley County's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Valley, the win got them back to even at 10-10.
Motley County will head out on the road to face off against Kress at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Kress is on a four-game streak of home losses, Motley County a nine-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. Valley will take on Patton Springs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Patton Springs aren't just struggling at home either: they haven't won a game anywhere since December 9, 2023.
