Humphreys County's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past Amanda Elzy 15-0. The win was familiar territory for the Cowboys, who have now won nine games in a row.

Christopher Lowe made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Lowe was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Percy Jefferson, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Xaylen Henderson, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Yazoo County). They were the clear victors by a 21-7 margin over Benton Academy on Thursday. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Raiders recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Yazoo County got a massive performance out of Parker Barron, who went 4-for-5 with one home run and seven RBI. Barron also put up a run, which was his first of the season. Graelan Shaffer was another key player, getting on base in four of his six plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and four RBI.
Humphreys County pushed their record up to 11-5 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Yazoo County, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Humphreys County suffered a grim 15-0 defeat to Yazoo County when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Humphreys County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
