Basketball Game Preview: Estherville Lincoln Central Midgets vs. Emmetsburg E'Hawks

Estherville Lincoln Central has gone 9-1 against Emmetsburg recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Estherville Lincoln Central Midgets will head out on the road to take on the Emmetsburg E'Hawks at 6:15 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Estherville Lincoln Central can't be too worried about heading out to take on Emmetsburg: they just beat Spirit Lake at home, who had been dominant on their own court up to that point. Estherville Lincoln Central walked away with a 54-41 win over Spirit Lake on Friday. Given the Midgets' advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked tenth, while the Indians are ranked 70th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Emmetsburg blew past Storm Lake St. Mary, posting a 58-12 victory. The E'Hawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 26 points or more this season.

The win made it two in a row for Emmetsburg and bumps their season record up to 13-8. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.5 points over those games. As for Estherville Lincoln Central, their record now sits at 17-3.

Estherville Lincoln Central took their victory against Emmetsburg when the teams last played back in January by a conclusive 51-28. The rematch might be a little tougher for Estherville Lincoln Central since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
