The Nebo Crossing Academy Bulldogs suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Monday. They were outmatched by Veritas Christian Academy at home and fell 80-35. It was the first time this season that Nebo Crossing Academy let down their fans at home.
Loss or not, Nebo Crossing Academy got some senior leadership from Tanner McKinney and Morgan Baker. McKinney scored 14 points along with eight rebounds, while Baker. scored 13 points along with five rebounds and four steals. That was a full 37.1% of Nebo Crossing Academy's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Nebo Crossing Academy's loss ended an 11-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-7. As for Veritas Christian Academy, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 12-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Nebo Crossing Academy will take on Challenger at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Challenger focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Monday. Veritas Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against United Faith Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on January 23rd. United Faith Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five contests -- so hopefully Veritas Christian Academy likes a good challenge.
