Basketball Recap: Midland Classical Academy Picks Up 16th Consecutive Victory

Midland Classical Academy had already won 15 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.4 points) and they went ahead and made it 16 on Friday. They walked away with a 49-39 win over the Lake Country Christian Eagles. For the Knights, this counts as revenge for the 42-36 victory the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Midland Classical Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Addie Dunn, who went 7 of 14 on her way to 17 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. The game was Dunn's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Kaleigh Sherrill was another key player, putting up 14 points and eight boards.

Midland Classical Academy pushed their record up to 26-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.9 points per game. As for Lake Country Christian, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 20-9.

Midland Classical Academy will welcome Lubbock Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Midland Classical Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.8 points per game this season. Lake Country Christian has already played their next match, a 71-14 victory against Trinity on the 25th.
