Calaveras has gone 8-2 against Linden recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Red Hawks will square off against the Lions at 4:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Calaveras is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over Big Valley Christian on Monday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Red Hawks considering their two-run performance the game before.

Kamryn Thornburg made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched six innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Emma Clark and Kendra Baechler did most of the damage at the plate: Clark scored three runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-3, while Baechler scored two runs and stole four bases while going 3-for-4. With that strong performance, Baechler is now averaging an impressive 1.2 stolen bases per game. Brynn Gardina also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Calaveras always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. The last time their OBP was this high was back in May of 2024.
Meanwhile, Linden waltzed into their matchup on Monday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over the Bruins. Considering the Lions have won five contests by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Cambel Dunn tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Those seven strikeouts gave her a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Millee Holguin was a standout: she scored five runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Those five runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Olivia Fears, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4.
Calaveras pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Linden, their record now sits at 8-5.
Linden's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Calaveras has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 12.6 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Linden, though, as they've been averaging only 3.9 strikeouts. Will Calaveras keep running through batters, or will the Lions buck the trend?
Calaveras beat Linden 8-5 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red Hawks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
