If the Provo Bulldogs were riding high off their 58-32 takedown of the Timpanogos Timberwolves last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Provo's tough 59-35 defeat to Payson on Friday might stick with them for a while. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Provo has suffered yet this season.
Payson got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Cheznie Roundy out in front who scored 16 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Quincey Mathews, who scored 14 points along with two blocks.
Provo's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Payson, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Provo will take on Uintah at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Uintah is ranked 104th, while Provo is ranked 97th). As for Payson, they will head out on the road to square off against Timpanogos at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Timpanogos is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
