The Amundsen Vikings can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They managed a 58-52 win over Mather. The victory was just what Amundsen needed coming off of a 61-35 defeat in their prior contest.
Amundsen's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Amadeus Valdez, who scored 14 points along with 7 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabriel April, who scored 11 points along with 6 rebounds.
Amundsen's win bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Mather, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-6.
Amundsen will take on Schurz at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Schurz comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Mather, they will head out on the road to face off against Senn at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
