The Normangee Panthers''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 40-7 loss at the hands of Leon. Normangee lost against Leon in their previous head to head back in November of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 45-20 score last time.
Leon got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Brock Bumpurs out in front who threw for 265 yards and four touchdowns on only 18 passes. Cooper Stevens was another key contributor, picking up 190 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Normangee's loss was their ninth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-9. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 9.1 points per game. As for Leon, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-5.
Normangee does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Leon will take on Garrison at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Garrison is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
