Palm Beach Central suffered a tough 28-7 defeat at the hands of Cardinal Newman on Friday. It was the first time this season that Palm Beach Central let down their fans at home.
Caleb Butler threw for 40 yards on 12 of 21 attempts. On the ground, Leon Williams rushed for 39 yards.
Jaylin ?Jbo? Brown was the offensive standout of the contest as he rushed for 96 yards and a touchdown. Cardinal Newman also got help from Naeshaun Montgomery who showed off his sure hands for 94 receiving yards.
Palm Beach Central's loss dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Cardinal Newman, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which somehow isn't as good as their 8-1 record this season.
Palm Beach Central will be playing in front of their home fans against Spanish River at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Spanish River will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 294th, while Palm Beach Central is ranked 67th). Cardinal Newman does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
