High school football: 2025 MaxPreps All-Sac-Joaquin Section Team

The 2025 MaxPreps All-Sac-Joaquin Section football team features high-profile recruits, record setters and state champions from across the second-largest section in California.

The best player on the best team in the section, Lyons is now a three-time MaxPreps Sac-Joaquin Section Player of the Year. The top-rated quarterback in the state went four-for-four in section championship games and collected two state titles. The BYU commit finished his senior year with 3,485 passing yards and 36 touchdowns while running for 15 more.

JUNIOR OF THE YEAR
Nikko Juarez, Manteca, RB
The workhorse for the Buffaloes, who took 11 straight wins into the section semifinals. For the second straight year, Juarez averaged more than 150 rushing yards per game with 1,652 yards and 24 TDs.

SOPHOMORE OF THE YEAR
Elijah Walker, Chavez (Stockton), QB
A year before Walker arrived on campus, Chavez was 0-10. Two years later, the Titans went 10-0 for the first time in school history with Walker helping the program to its second consecutive San Joaquin Athletic Association championship, passing for 2,491 yards and 33 touchdowns.

FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR
Hudson Baldwin, Hughson, QB
Baldwin led Hughson to a 9-3 record and playoff win. Baldwin had his best game in the regular season finale against Hilmar with 382 yards and four touchdowns, finishing the year with 1,858 yards and 21 TDs.

Kirk Clifton, Sonora 
Led the unbeaten Wildcats to their second straight Division VI section crown en route to the team's second consecutive state championship. Sonora leveled up from Division 4-A last year to Division 2-A and still took down undefeated Rio Hondo Prep 35-10 in the final.

Paul Doherty, Folsom

Manny Mossa, Calaveras (San Andreas)
Never in the 120-year history of the San Andreas school had a boys team won a state championship until 2025. That all changed when the Redhawks rolled past Bishop Union in the Division 5-A final. Calaveras also won its first outright Mother Lode League title since 2013.

Adam Reinking, Roseville
In his sixth season on the sideline at Roseville, Reinking helped bring the Tigers their first section title since 1987 with a thrilling 31-29 finish at Hughes Stadium.

Kyle Stowers, Woodcreek (Roseville)
After a six-year absence from being a co-head coach at Woodcreek, Stowers returned to the sideline with a vengeance. He helped the Timberwolves capture their first section crown with a 58-52 win over Oakdale.

QB – Jaden Galvan, St. Mary's, Sr.
Helped the Rams to their fourth overall section title and first since 2016. He had 250 passing yards and two touchdowns to lift St. Mary's to its first state championship.

QB – Aidan Lopez, Casa Roble (Orangevale), Sr.
Led the section with 3,489 passing yards and tied for the most touchdown passes with 36 in helping the Rams reach the Division V championship game.

QB – Josiah Melendez, Woodcreek, Sr.
Helped deliver the Timberwolves their first ever section crown with 365 passing yards along with 151 rushing yards and six total touchdowns in what was the highest-scoring game in section championship history.

RB – Wes Burford, Oakdale, Sr.
The Air Force commit became the section's all-time leader in rushing yards, finishing his decorated career with 7,364 yards while leading the section with 37 total touchdowns.

RB – Brayden Camara, East Union (Manteca), Sr.
Helped the Lancers reach their first section final since 1989 by rushing for 1,849 yards with 29 TDs. He averaged 142.2 yards per game.

RB – Isaiah Ene, Granite Bay, Sr.
The Sacramento State commit was named the Sierra Foothill League's Co-Defensive Player of the Year, but he bruised his way to 1,795 rushing yards and 28 scores, leading the Grizzlies to the Division II section final.

WR – Langdon Horace, Edison (Stockton), Sr.
The Stanford signee was the Tri-City Athletic League Offensive Player of the Year after catching 63 passes for 1,246 yards and 12 touchdowns for the Vikings.

WR – Kenneth Moore III, St. Mary's, Sr.
The speedy UCLA signee was the TCAL MVP, leading St. Mary's to its first state crown. He had 945 receiving yards and 11 TDs while adding three touchdowns on special teams.

WR – Jameson Powell, Folsom, Sr.
The SFL Offensive Player of the Year led the section with 1,374 receiving yards and hauled in 16 TD grabs. Powell is headed to Oregon State next year.

WR – Oreste Yong, Roseville, Sr.
At 6-foot-5, 205 pounds, Yong was a huge reason why Roseville won its first section championship in nearly 40 years. He had 123 yards and two touchdowns catches in the section final vs. East Union.

TE – Rahzario Edwards, Grant (Sacramento), Jr.
The 6-foot-6, 210-pound playmaker has 23 Division I offers and counting. Edwards had 634 receiving yards with five scores.

TE – Ivan Huerta, St. Mary's, Sr.
Leading receiver for the state champion Rams with 1,321 yards and 13 TDs. He saved his best work for the state playoffs with games of 178 and 146 yards.

OL – Channce Davis, Sonora, Sr.
The Trans-Valley League Lineman of the Year helped the Wildcats rush for more than 5,000 yards en route to back-to-back state titles.

OL – Lucio Dominguez, Grant, Sr.
The Pacers boasted the Co-Metro League Players of the Year, both from their offensive line. Dominguez was a four-year varsity impact player at Grant.

OL – Vlad Dyakonov, Folsom, Sr.
At 6-foot-7, 280 pounds, Dyakonov was the most trusted protector up front for the Bulldogs. The four-star USC signee was the SFL Lineman of the Year.

OL – Colton Hogge, Twelve Bridges (Lincoln), Sr.
The first FBS football signee in the brief history of Twelve Bridges, Hogge will head to Nevada next season. He takes three league titles and one section championship with him.

OL – Ronnie Noa-Kiel, Grant, Sr.
Along with Dominguez, Noa-Kiel was the other Co-Metro League Player of the Year who helped the Pacers rush for more than 145 yards per game.

ATH – Jasen Womack, Oak Ridge (El Dorado Hills), Sr.
Womack was named the SFL's Co-Defensive Player of the Year. The Cal Poly commit was as well-rounded as they come with 1,605 all-purpose yards, 80 tackles, four interceptions and 11 total TDs.

K – Rigo Estrella, Sonora, Sr.
Tied for the most extra-point makes in the state, going 82 of 90 and added six of seven field goal tries with a long of 48 yards.

DL – Troy Bowens, Sutter, Jr.
Four-star recruit led the Division V championship defense that allowed just over 12 points a game with 106 tackles and 13 sacks.

DL – Lua Deberry, Folsom, Jr.
A three-star prospect with offers from Idaho, New Mexico, San Diego State and Sacramento State, DeBerry had 84 tackles, 6.5 sacks and an interception for the state champion Bulldogs.

DL – Valentin Garibay, Fairfield, Sr.
Tied for the most sacks in the section with 15 and added 17 tackles for loss. Helped Fairfield win its first Greater Sacramento League championship.

DL – Asher Runnion, Rocklin, Sr.
A force for the Thunder defense with 12 tackles for loss, eight sacks and three forced fumbles.

LB – E.J. Coleman, Folsom, Jr.
Had a breakout season with 112 tackles and two interceptions, two fumble recoveries, a blocked field goal and touchdowns on fumble and interception returns.

LB – Mathieu Evans, Manteca, Sr.
Was the Valley Oak League's Co-Defensive Player of the Year after recording a team high 22.5 tackles for loss, eight sacks and two forced fumbles.

LB – Andrew Quinn, Liberty Ranch (Galt), Jr.
Had 1,517 rushing yards with 16 scores offensively along with team-highs of 105 tackles and 22.5 for loss for the 11-1 Hawks. Named the Sierra Valley Conference MVP.

LB – Ben Rivas, Oak Ridge, So.
Rivas didn't record his first sack until October but finished with 10 on the year to go with 17 tackles for loss.

LB – Brody Speer, Sonora, Sr.
Another do-all player for Sonora, Speer spearheaded the Wildcats' defense with 120 tackles, including 17 for loss, with three sacks and an interception.

DB – Max Bringgold, Sutter, Sr.
Had a section championship performance for the ages with 135 yards and three touchdowns rushing, a receiving TD, a passing TD, 11 tackles and an interception to lead the Huskies to their first SJS blue banner.

DB – Cash Byington, Sonora, Sr.
Was named the TVL MVP for what he can do on both sides of the ball. While racking up 1,225 rushing yards and 24 touchdowns offensively, Byington also provided 93 tackles and nine pass breakups for the state champion Wildcats.

DB – Justin Fischer, Roseville, Sr.
Tied for the section lead with nine interceptions and had two games with at least two picks for the Division IV champion Tigers.

DB – Jason Hill Jr., Folsom, Sr.
The Stanford commit led the Bulldogs' secondary with six interceptions, 15 passes defended and two fumble recoveries while providing some offense as well with 320 receiving yards.

DB – Trace Murchison, Woodcreek, Jr.
One of the top two-way players in the section, Murchison was named the Capital Valley Conference MVP. To go with his 1,200 receiving yards, he was a shutdown defensive back as well.
