Mountain Crest dropped their record down to 14-7 on Monday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Payson Lions by a score of  5-4. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the  4-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in March of 2022.
 Mountain Crest saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Brok Buttars, who  went 1-for-3 with one  stolen base, one  run,  and one  RBI.
As for Payson,  the  win snapped their losing streak at three games  and leaves them with a 9-16 record. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  victory they have posted  since March 21st.
 On Payson's side,  Ty Marvin was  incredible,  going 1-for-2 with one  home run, three  runs,  and one  stolen base. The Lions are 2-1 when  Marvin posts two or  more  runs, but 7-15 otherwise.  Bosten Roseman was another key player,  going 2-for-3 with two  RBI and one  run.
 Looking ahead, Mountain Crest will challenge Ridgeline at 3:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Riverhawks will roll in looking for their  eighth straight  win, something the Mustangs surely won't give up without a fight. Payson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
