The Jarrell Cougars pushed their score all the way to 57 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 69-57 loss to Llano. Jarrell has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Llano to victory, but perhaps none more so than Weston Baker, who scored 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Baker has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Charlie White, who scored 18 points.
Jarrell now has a losing record at 10-11. As for Llano, they pushed their record up to 15-6 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.
Jarrell will take on Robinson at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Robinson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Tuesday. As for Llano, they will head out on the road to face off against Lake View at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lake View will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1060th, while Llano is ranked 475th).
