The Bell Griffins will face off against the Anacostia Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bell will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
Two weeks ago, Bell faced McKinley Tech in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Bell took their game at home with ease, bagging a 57-0 victory over McKinley Tech. The result was nothing new for Bell, who have now won five contests by 20 points or more so far this season.
Bell found their leader in underclassman Antonio` Washington, who rushed for 115 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries. Washington was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 60 yards. Chris Palmer also deserves a shout-out for his three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, last Friday just wasn't the day for Anacostia's offense. They were the victim of a rough 26-0 loss at the hands of Coolidge. Anacostia has struggled against Coolidge recently, as their match on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
RI?Chard Wheeler put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for 158 yards while picking up 9.3 yards per carry.
Bell is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. As for Anacostia, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.
