The Westinghouse Warriors waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with six straight wins but they left with seven. They managed a 46-41 victory over Addison Trail. Given Westinghouse's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while the Blazers are ranked 357th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
LaMonyca Bryant was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 13 rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more rebounds the last 15 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamilah Jackson, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and six assists.
Westinghouse has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-3 record this season. As for Addison Trail, they dropped their record down to 8-19 with that loss, which was their eighth straight at home.
Westinghouse will head out on the road to challenge the Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Addison Trail does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
