Gloucester was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Monday as the team picked up their tenth straight  defeat  dating back to last season. They were a single  set away from ending the streak, but they lost  a   3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lafayette Rams. While the Dukes didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Rams  25-21 in the first  set.
 Gloucester took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-7, 24-26, 25-13,  15-12.
 Lafayette was led to victory by  Laurel Bray and  Leigh Hanson.  Bray  had six  aces and one  block, while  Hanson  had seven  kills, three  digs, three  aces,  and one  block. Those  seven  kills gave  Hanson a new career-high.
Gloucester's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Lafayette, their victory  ended  a  three-game drought on the road  and  puts them at 4-5.
