Stewartsville/Osborn had trouble last Friday, and unfortunately for them, their opponent this week is a big step up in difficulty. They and North Shelby go head to head on Friday at 7:00 PM in their first playoff game of the year. Stewartsville/Osborn are expected to win -- but not by much -- so they will need to come into the contest prepared for a fight.
It was a close one, but North Shelby sidestepped Orrick for a 42-40 win. Junior Dayton Mettes was the offensive standout of the match for North Shelby, as he rushed for 124 yards and 2 touchdowns. Mettes has been a consistent playmaker for North Shelby as this was the 6th good game in a row from him.
Meanwhile, Stewartsville/Osborn have been struggling to pick up a victory, with their match against DeKalb making it eight winless games in a row. Stewartsville/Osborn took a serious blow against DeKalb, falling 22-70.
North Shelby's win lifted them to 6-3 while Stewartsville/Osborn's loss dropped them down to 1-8. The Stewartsville/Osborn defense got after the quarterback against DeKalb to the tune of four sacks, so North Shelby's offensive line better have put in some good practice this past week in preparation for the matchup.
