The Meridian Mustangs will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Mead Raiders at 6:30 p.m. Meridian will be strutting in after a victory while Mead will be coming in after a loss.
You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Meridian's strategy against Silver Lake on Friday. Everything went Meridian's way against Silver Lake as Meridian made off with a 43-22 victory. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Meridian had established a 20 point advantage.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Meridian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ana Dimas, who scored 15 points along with four steals. Dimas has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of McKenzie Hofstetter, who scored seven points along with six steals.
Meanwhile, sadly, Mead is still looking for their first win of the season after 21 matches. They fell to Omaha Christian Academy 38-34.
Despite the loss, Mead had strong showings from Taylar Shull, who scored 11 points along with seven steals, and Riley Koranda, who scored six points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Shull has scored all season.
Meridian has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 11-9 record this season. As for Mead, their loss was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-21.
