Baseball Recap: Fairless' Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Three

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Fairless ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Canton South Wildcats 3-2. Winning may never get old, but the Falcons sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Mike Ritterbeck and Lucas Peters did most of the damage at the plate: Ritterbeck went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Peters went 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Fairless pushed their record up to 9-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Canton South, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.

Fairless will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wildcats: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
