Rock Island found a leader in Maddie Carroll as the team took down Hononegah on Saturday. Carroll turned in nothing short of a gem, striking out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up five earned runs off five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

Looking ahead, Carroll and Rock Island will stay at home for another game and welcome Geneseo at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
