The Fairfield Falcons will head out on the road to  challenge  the New Prairie Cougars at 5:30  p.m.  on Friday. Fairfield is looking to tack on another W to their 14-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
 Fairfield's pitching crew heads into the  game  hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed  on Thursday. They won by a  run and slipped past Lakeland  1-0. Despite the  win, that was the fewest  runs Fairfield has scored all year.
 Not much got past  Landon Miller, who gave up just  five  hits and racked up 12 Ks to keep Lakeland off the board. Miller has been consistent recently: he hasn't  tossed less than seven  strikeouts in five consecutive pitching appearances.
 At the plate, Fairfield's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was  Eli Miller, who  went 1-for-2 with  an  RBI.
 Meanwhile, New Prairie can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent  match  on Tuesday. They blew past Boone Grove 10-1. The high-scoring effort was just what New Prairie needed considering they were shutout in their previous   contest.
  Joe Kinney spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up 13 Ks.
 On the hitting side,  the team  relied heavily on  Brody Traxler, who  scored three  runs and  stole two bases while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of  Reed Robinson, who  went 2-for-3 with a  stolen base.
 Fairfield has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won six of their last seven matchups,  which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record  this season. As for New Prairie, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.
 Fairfield suffered a grim  9-2 defeat to New Prairie  in their previous meeting  back in April of 2023. Can Fairfield avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
