Warrenton has won eight straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Valley Catholic has won eight straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Saturday. The Warriors will welcome the Valiants at 2:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
While Warrenton's victory against Horizon Christian wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Warriors sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over the Hawks on Wednesday. The victory continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Hawks: they've now won five in a row.

Talon McGrorty made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out 14 batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
McGrorty wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Odin Wilson, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Ryder Sturgell was another, scoring a run and stealing two bases.
Meanwhile, Valley Catholic never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over Neah-Kah-Nie.
Like Warrenton, Valley Catholic also got a great game from a two-way player: Brandon Yee. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. Yee also tossed no walks, which is notable because Valley Catholic is 2-0-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 4-5 otherwise. Yee was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Trevor Yee was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. Another player making a difference was Elliot Bielefeld, who scored two runs while going 1-for-4.
Warrenton's win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Valley Catholic, they now have a winning record of 6-5-1.
Valley Catholic's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Warrenton has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .492. It's a different story for Valley Catholic, though, as they've only averaged .316. Will they be able to contain Warrenton's hitters?
Warrenton was able to grind out a solid victory over Valley Catholic in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 7-2. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Valiants turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
