Hemlock has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Swan Valley Vikings at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Saturday, Hemlock suffered a rough 51-31 defeat at the hands of Frankenmuth. While losing is never fun, Hemlock can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 60th, while Frankenmuth is ranked 16th).
Hemlock's loss came about despite a quality game from Lauren Borsenik, who scored six points along with 11 rebounds and two steals. Borsenik hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games.
Meanwhile, Swan Valley came up short against Glenn on Friday and fell 38-30. Swan Valley has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Hemlock's loss ended a 15-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 13-3. As for Swan Valley, they dropped their record down to 5-12 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home.
Hemlock came up short against Swan Valley in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, falling 44-38. Can Hemlock avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
