The Springfield Blue Devils scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Woodward 68-48. The victory was some much needed relief for Springfield as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
Springfield was led to victory by Drew Martin and Aaron Adams. Martin scored eight points along with seven rebounds and three steals, while Adams scored 11 points along with three steals. It was the first time this season that Martin grabbed two or more steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Lawniczak, who scored seven points along with five rebounds.
Springfield's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-13. As for Woodward, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-14.
Springfield will be playing in front of their home fans against Ross at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Springfield is on a six-game streak of home losses (dating back to last season), Ross a six-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. As for Woodward, they will head out on the road to square off against St. Francis de Sales at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Woodward will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 656th, while St. Francis de Sales is ranked 84th).
