Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Savannah Country Day to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rudy Anderson, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Robert Spaulding iv, who scored 19 points along with four steals.
Groves' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyrone Chisholm, who scored 14 points along with eight assists and five steals. Chisholm is crushing the steal category: he's posted at least three every time he's taken the court this season. Sidney Flaggs was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with seven assists and three steals.
The victory makes it two in a row for Savannah Country Day and bumps their season record up to 7-11. As for Groves, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-11.
Savannah Country Day will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Blue Tide at 7:30 p.m. Long County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Hornets in Georgia (the Blue Tide are ranked 119th, while the Hornets are ranked 246th). As for Groves, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th.
