Stow-Munroe Falls extended the longest winning streak in Northeast Ohio - River this week by beating North Royalton, 31-23. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Bulldogs.
Mayfield led the league in scoring this week by notching 32 points on Shaker Heights.
The Bears' dynamic duo of Jack Marousek and Austin Smith proved to be unstoppable against Stow-Munroe Falls, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Marousek threw for 171 yards and 1 touchdown and Smith had 78 yards receiving. Henry Meinberg helped North Royalton's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 61 yards.
Elyria's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Pioneers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Hunter Parsh has thrown for 1,755 yards and 11 touchdowns this season, while Tavon Kurtz has 31 catches for 529 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Stow-Munroe Falls takes on second place Elyria. Mark Nori's team bested North Royalton last week, while Elyria topped Medina.
The Pioneers' offense has recorded 315 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while the Bulldogs have permitted only 119 on the year.
The Wildcats made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 1,736 from 1,935. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 32-26 victory over the Red Raiders last week.
