The Olentangy Braves waltzed into their game Saturday with two straight wins but they left with three. They really took it to River for the full four quarters, racking up a 60-33 victory on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Olentangy has managed all season.
Ulysses Ponder was his usual excellent self, scoring 15 points along with seven rebounds. The matchup was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ty Walburn, who scored ten points.
Olentangy's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for River, their loss dropped their record down to 5-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Olentangy will take on Hilliard Darby at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hilliard Darby will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 553rd, while Olentangy is ranked 110th). As for River, they will be playing at home against Buckeye Local at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Buckeye Local is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
