Winning is just a little bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 18 to 9 on the offensive boards, a fact the South Atlanta Hornets proved on Saturday. They took down Business Engineering Science Tech 72-54. Given South Atlanta's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 174th, while Business Engineering Science Tech is ranked 500th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead South Atlanta to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bol Deng, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. Duor Duor was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Emery Jones, who scored 20 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Fallou Dioum, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine assists.
South Atlanta has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. As for Business Engineering Science Tech, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-21.
South Atlanta didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 80-60 victory vs. Mount Paran Christian on the 12th. Business Engineering Science Tech does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
