The Fleming Island Golden Eagles will be playing at home against the Paxon School For Advanced Studies Golden Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Last Tuesday, Fleming Island ended up a good deal behind Tocoi Creek and lost 61-46.
Fleming Island's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of London Jenkins, who scored 23 points, and Ariana Pierce who scored 16 points along with 8 rebounds. Jenkins scored a full 50% of Fleming Island's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Victoria Noble, who scored 3 points.
Meanwhile, Paxon School For Advanced Studies came up short against Haines City on Wednesday and fell 45-33.
The wins kept both teams' perfect 1-1 season records intact.
Everything came up roses for Fleming Island against Paxon School For Advanced Studies in their previous meeting back in January of 2022 as the squad secured a 60-33 victory.
