The Northern Valley Huskies lost against the Thunder Ridge Longhorns back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Northern Valley fell just short of Thunder Ridge by a score of 35-33. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Northern Valley has scored all season.
Northern Valley lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Delaney Sides, who scored eight points along with 12 rebounds. Those 12 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Austyn Cox was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with ten rebounds.
Kamryn Rietzke was her usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with eight steals and five rebounds for Thunder Ridge. The game was Rietzke's fourth in a row with at least ten points.
Northern Valley's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Thunder Ridge, they pushed their record up to 4-1 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.
Northern Valley will be home for the holidays to greet Arapahoe on Tuesday. Hopefully Arapahoe focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 32 on Friday. As for Thunder Ridge, they will head out on the road to face off against Osborne on Tuesday. Osborne will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
