The Northside Indians's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight loss. They were beaten by Benjamin 97-36. Northside was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 54-19.
Grayson Rigdon was his usual excellent self, shooting 11-for-16 from beyond the arc and dropping a double-double on 72 points and ten steals for Benjamin. That makes it 15 consecutive games in which Rigdon has scored at least a third of Benjamin's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Keegan Hayes, who dropped a triple-double on ten points, ten rebounds, and 21 assists.
Northside's loss was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-14. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.4 points per game. As for Benjamin, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 16-0.
Northside will look to defend their home court on Friday against Chillicothe at 6:00 p.m. Chillicothe comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 22 points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Benjamin, they will head out on the road to challenge Lubbock Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Lubbock Christian is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
