The Canastota Red Raiders''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 28-7 walloping at the hands of Cazenovia. While losing is never fun, Canastota can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 370th, while Cazenovia is ranked 78th).
Cazenovia found their leader in underclassman Robert Livingston, who threw for 170 yards and three touchdowns. Cazenovia also got help from Christian Schug who showed off his sure hands for 84 receiving yards.
Cazenovia's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Leading the way was Jack Donlin and his two sacks.
Canastota's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 2-6. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 11.0 points per game. As for Cazenovia, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.
Canastota does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Cazenovia is on the road again on Friday and play against Holland Patent at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th.
