On Friday, Academic Magnet take on Charleston Math & Science . Academic Magnet will be strutting in after a win while Charleston Math & Science will be stumbling in from a loss.
It was all tied up at the half for Academic Magnet and Northwood Academy last Friday, but Academic Magnet stepped up in the second half. Academic Magnet blew past Northwood Academy 35-7. Academic Magnet was expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Meanwhile, Charleston Math & Science had to kick off their season with an away game, and unfortunately wound up with a long bus ride home. They were given a punishing 0-56 defeat at the hands of Porter-Gaud. Charleston Math & Science were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 0-36.
Charleston Math & Science's loss took them down to 0-1 while Academic Magnet's victory pulled them up to write [team] current record. A win for Charleston Math & Science would reverse both their bad luck and Academic Magnet's good luck. We'll see if Charleston Math & Science manages to pull off that tough task or if Academic Magnet keeps their momentum going instead.
