The Wake Christian Academy Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their tenth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 47-20 loss at the hands of St. David. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Wake Christian Academy in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now lost six in a row.
Despite the defeat, Wake Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: Emma Crissman scored 11 points along with two steals. Crissman is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Wake Christian Academy struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as St. David's racked up 11 assists.
Rebecca Leshnock was her usual excellent self, scoring 18 points along with eight rebounds and four steals for St. David's. Leshnock also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Kate Benson was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with three steals.
Wake Christian Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 11 of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season. As for St. David's, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 16-5.
Wake Christian Academy will be playing at home against the Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. GRACE Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for St. David's, they will head out on the road to challenge the Tigers at 5:15 p.m. on Friday.
