The Paul VI Panthers will take on the Langley Saxons at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Paul VI is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last eight games.
Paul VI will bounce into Thursday's contest after beating Our Lady of Good Counsel, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Panthers put the hurt on the Falcons with a sharp 10-1 win on Tuesday. Considering the Panthers have won 15 games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Giovanna Gottfried spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in 13 consecutive appearances.

Not much got past Norah Jacques, who gave up just a hit and racked up 19 Ks to keep Washington-Liberty off the board.

Paul VI's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's matchup. The Panthers have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Langley, though, as they've been averaging only 0.9 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Paul VI continue to outrun the ball?
Paul VI couldn't quite get it done against Langley when the teams last played back in March of 2025 as they fell 7-4. Will the Panthers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
