The Williston Red Devils are taking a road trip to square off against the Baldwin Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
On Wednesday, Williston came up short against Palatka and fell 8-5. The Red Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Houston Fessenden was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Breeden Clemenzi and Jacob Loock stepped up to the plate in a big way. Clemenzi scored two runs while going 2-for-4, while Loock scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Clemenzi has become a key player for Williston: the team is 7-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Waylon Geiger, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Meanwhile, Baldwin entered their tilt with Hilliard on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Red Flashes. 13 seems to be a good number for the Indians as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Drew Harmon was a standout: he scored three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Jesse Macik was another key player, going 2-for-4 with five RBI, one run, and one double.
Baldwin's win bumped their record up to 13-11. As for Williston, their loss dropped their record down to 12-10.
Williston's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's matchup. The Red Devils have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Baldwin, though, as they've been averaging only 1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Williston continue to outrun the ball?
Williston came out on top in a nail-biter against Baldwin when the teams last played back in March of 2017, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red Devils since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
