After a string of 16 wins, the Thomson Bulldogs's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 55-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of Westside. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Thomson has scored all season.
It was another big night for DeMarco Middleton, who scored 24 points along with six rebounds and two steals for Westside. Middleton's trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for four games straight. Bobby Blackwell was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.
Thomson's defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-1. As for Westside, their victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-3.
Thomson will square off against Glenn Hills at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Glenn Hills comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Westside, they will be playing at home against Putnam County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Putnam County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 130th, while Westside is ranked 19th).
