Dallas Jesuit announced Wednesday morning on ESPN2 he will be attending Stanford.
As a senior at Jesuit, Smith tallied 1,404 rushing and receiving yards and 29 touchdowns. He finished his three-year career with 3,077 rushing yards with 60 touchdowns and 1,613 receiving yards with 19 scores.
247Sports has Smith pegged as a Top 300-caliber prospect. Florida and Texas A&M were considered to be other key players in his recruitment.
Smith's father Emmitt is one of the greatest running backs of all time. He is the career record holder for rushing yards (18,355) and rushing touchdowns (164). As a member of the Dallas Cowboys, he won three Super Bowls and was enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2010.
College football's early signing period began Wednesday and runs through Friday. Those that don't sign during that window will have the opportunity to do so between Feb. 5 and April 1, 2020.
