The Mayfair Monsoons suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They were the victim of a tough 89-69 loss at the hands of Lynwood. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Friday (55), Mayfair still had to take the loss.
Jason Crowe Jr was his usual excellent self, scoring 42 points along with five rebounds and five steals for Lynwood. Crowe Jr is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Chace Holley, who scored 18 points along with six assists and five rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Mayfair and nudges their season record down to 9-10. As for Lynwood, they pushed their record up to 15-6 with that victory, which was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season.
Mayfair will take on Dominguez at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lynwood won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Valencia at 7:00 p.m. on January 13th. Valencia will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 269th, while Lynwood is ranked 88th).
