St. Mary is a perfect 10-0 against Nichols since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Lancers will host the Vikings at 4:30 p.m. St. Mary's will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
St. Mary's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over Sacred Heart Academy. The Lancers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by ten runs or more this season.
St. Mary's got a great performance from Olivia Lange as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Lange has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ella Dovey was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Nichols had taken Mount Mercy Academy down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Tuesday. The Vikings lost 12-6 to the Magic.
Reyes Rodriguez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and 11 unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up eight Ks. Those eight strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
At the plate, Ellery Jaworowicz was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Brynn Bacak, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
St. Mary's pushed their record up to 7-3 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Nichols, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.
Nichols' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: St. Mary's has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11 hits per game. It's a different story for Nichols, though, as they've been averaging 8.8 hits. Given St. Mary's sizable advantage in that area, the Vikings will need to find a way to close that gap.
St. Mary's took their win against Nichols in their previous meeting last Thursday by a conclusive 15-5 score. Will the Lancers repeat their success, or do the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
