Last Friday, Aynor came up short against the Warriors and fell 40-30. Aynor has struggled against the Warriors recently, as their game on Friday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Aynor saw an underclassman step up: Terianna Richardson scored 11 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Richardson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Lainey Squires, who scored seven points along with 12 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Georgetown's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 12th straight defeat. They were outmatched by Loris on the road and fell 67-11.
Aynor's defeat dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Georgetown, they dropped their record down to 2-20 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road.
Everything went Aynor's way against the Bulldogs when the teams last played back in January as the Blue Jackets made off with a 44-23 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Aynor since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
