North Vermillion and Fountain Central are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Falcons will host the Mustangs at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. North Vermillion came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 16-6 to West Vigo. The defeat continues a trend for the Falcons in their meetings with the Vikings: they've now lost four in a row.

Ava Jumps made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one triple. She is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Olivia Baker, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Fountain Central can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. Everything went their way against Faith Christian as they made off with a 12-1 victory. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by 11 runs or more this season.
Patience Bixler made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Bixler was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.
In other batting news, Jacquelynn Weber was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base. Mallory Massey was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.
North Vermillion's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Fountain Central, their win bumped their record up to 3-6.
North Vermillion suffered a grim 20-4 defeat to Fountain Central in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Falcons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
