The Abilene Christian Panthers extended their postseason success on Friday against the Lucas Christian Academy Warriors. They came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 52-42. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Despite the defeat, Lucas Christian Academy had strong showings from Rylee Holman, who threw for 384 yards and six touchdowns, and Rylan Goss, who picked up 182 receiving yards and four touchdowns. Holman hasn't dropped below three passing touchdowns for four straight games. Luke Martin did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 82 receiving yards.
The win was the fourth in a row for Abilene Christian, bringing their record for this year to 11-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.8 points per game. As for Lucas Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 11-3.
Abilene Christian is on the road again on Saturday and play against Lucas Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on November 25th. Lucas Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 14 games -- so hopefully Abilene Christian likes a good challenge. As for Lucas Christian Academy, they will take on Abilene Christian at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Texas (Abilene Christian is ranked 21st, while Lucas Christian Academy is ranked 35th).
