Even though the Banning Broncos scored an imposing 57 points on Wednesday, the Yucca Valley Trojans still came out on top. Yucca Valley took down the Broncos 74-57. The victory was nothing new for Yucca Valley as they're now sitting on three straight.
Jadon Pierce was his usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with five assists and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Mills, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds.
Banning's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Noah Aguilar, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and two steals, and Junior Dunahoo who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and two blocks. It was the first time this season that Dunahoo posted two or more blocks. Another player making a difference was Jalen Young, who scored eight points.
Yucca Valley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 12-8 record this season. As for Banning, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-17.
Yucca Valley will head out on the road to square off against the RAMS at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Desert Mirage comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last five games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Banning, they will be playing at home against the Rajahs at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Indio is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
