The McCallie Blue Tornado's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight defeat. They fell just short of Boyd-Buchanan by a score of 55-53. McCallie was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Buccaneers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.
McCallie lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Artrell Knight, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kenneth Chime, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
McCallie's loss dropped their record down to 14-6. As for Boyd-Buchanan, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 16 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McCallie will take on the Buffaloes at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday. Sunrise Christian Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 173rd in Kansas, while the Blue Tornado are ranked 40th in Tennessee). As for Boyd-Buchanan, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Pounders at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Chattanooga Central is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
