The Foxcroft Academy Ponies had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They enjoyed a cozy 50-34 win over Washington Academy on Saturday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Foxcroft Academy also won the last time the pair played back in February.
Foxcroft Academy was led to victory by Silas Topolski and Jadon Richard. Topolski scored 17 points along with three steals, while Richard scored 21 points along with five assists and four steals. Jack Smith was another key contributor, scoring four points along with three steals.
Foxcroft Academy's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Washington Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Foxcroft Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Ellsworth at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Ellsworth presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Foxcroft Academy in Maine (Ellsworth is ranked fifth, while Foxcroft Academy is ranked 27th). As for Washington Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Orono at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
