Softball Recap: Stafford Wins Going Away Against Hylton

Stafford made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Hylton, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Indians put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 10-3 win on Thursday. This was payback for the Indians, who suffered a 7-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Angela Dreistadt was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Those hits were her first of the season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Stafford let Bailey Fillis and Denae Lardge run wild. Fillis went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI, while Lardge scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Lardge also put up two doubles, which were her first of the season. Tori Bove was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.

Stafford kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive contests.

Stafford now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Hylton, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-2.

Stafford didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 4-0 victory against Brooke Point on the 4th. As for Hylton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 15-7 win against Woodbridge on the 8th.
