Cerritos is a perfect 10-0 against Oxford Academy since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Dons will face off against the Patriots at 3:15 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Cerritos has five straight victories, Oxford Academy has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Cerritos is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 21-1 margin over Glenn on Tuesday. Considering the Dons have won six matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Alexis Ceron made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Ceron was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Cerritos got a massive performance out of Emma Villegas, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. Those four RBI gave Villegas a new career-high. Noelle Martinez was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs.
Cerritos always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .590. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .562 or higher in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Oxford Academy's offense. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Artesia on Friday.
Oxford Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Cerritos, their record now sits at 7-5.
Everything went Cerritos' way against Oxford Academy in their previous meeting back in March, as Cerritos made off with a 17-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Dons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
