Leflore County had lost three straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped down to 5-9 to make it four. They came up short against the Simmons Blue Devils, falling 16-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-7 back in March.

Donovan Leflore was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged three or more in each of the last four games he's played.
As for Simmons, they moved to 6-8 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by ten runs or more this season.
On Simmons' side, Quentoris Wallace was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. Wallace was also big at the plate, earning one run and two stolen bases.
In other batting news, Simmons got a massive performance out of Nathaniel Singleton, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Lawrence Woods, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.
Leflore County wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 27-19 loss against South Delta on the 13th. As for Simmons, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-0 win against Gentry on the 13th.
