Blackman put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past the Northwest Vikings 12-3. With that win, the Blaze brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.

Adrian Gomez tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched.

At the plate, Andrew Monson was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Coren Collins, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Blackman hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive contests.

Blackman's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.1 runs over those games. As for Northwest, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Blackman has already played their next matchup (against Clarksville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Northwest, they will square off against Middle Tennessee Christian at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Northwest has given up an average of 12.4 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
